The Beatles are the most successful band in the history of music, having sold an estimated 600 million units worldwide. So it’s hardly surprising as Brits that they have been selected to have the first track on King Charles III’s official Coronation playlist
The playlist of 27 songs has been hand-selected on behalf of His Majesty by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport and includes plenty of classic acts like Queen, Sir Tom Jones and David Bowie among the newer ones. And included with them as the opening track on the Spotify playlist is The Beatles’ Come Together.
The iconic song was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney as the opening track of The Beatles’ 1969 album Abbey Road. Given the track’s unifying title, that’s presumably why it was chosen from the incredible choice of the Fab Four’s back catalogue.
