The Best Dressed Stars This Week Were Dressed for Holiday Parties

The end of November signals the unofficial beginning of the holiday season. With Thanksgiving next week and Christmas soon after, the holiday party circuit is about to ramp up—meaning it’s time for your best glitzy fashion to come out and play. Hollywood’s top stars certainly understood that this week: On the red carpets, they opted for glamorous dresses and suits that would be right at home at any festive bash.

At last night’s Governor Awards in Los Angeles, there were a few standout gowns that shined. In a silky green material, Margot Robbie’s Bottega Veneta look—a two-piece top and skirt, exposing the abs—was the right mix of classic and contemporary. As was Florence Pugh’s chic, white Victoria Beckham dress, which featured sheer paneling. Earlier in the week, Zoë Kravitz also proved skin is in at a GQ party in L.A.: She wore Saint Laurent’s black, deep-V floor-length gown with a cutout at the navel.

Sculptural designs also prevailed this week. At the Women Talking premiere in L.A., Olivia Wilde slipped into Gabriela Hearst’s black gown, with a built-in “bust” that was shaped and molded from gold leather. For her Wednesday premiere in Hollywood, Gwendoline Christie also chose Balenciaga’s red floor-length gown with an oversized bow at the back—maybe to accentuate the fabulous fashion gift that she is.
