The NBA season has finally crossed the midway point, which means us fans have a clearer picture of who the top teams are, who the biggest disappointments are, and most importantly, who has established themselves as one of the handful of worthy candidates for the league’s MVP honors. And this year, the group might be more than a handful of players.
Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic is the reigning two-time winner and is once again dominating the NBA, serving as arguably the league’s best passer and center simultaneously. And while he has been spectacular once again this season, there is stiff competition. In fact, this MVP race might be as tough as any in recent memory, with worthy options littered throughout the NBA. But the best news for the league is that while veteran icons such as Kevin Durant, LeBron James and Stephen Curry continue to dominate in their own right, the most worthy candidates to date happen to be some of the rising superstars that figure to carry the NBA over the next decade.
