The bizarre UK beach that stays at 17C in autumn

WINTER is definitely on its way, with days getting shorter and the temperature starting to drop.

However, there are places where those of us desperate to hold on to summer can still get a bit of sun this year.

Research from Parkdean Resorts has revealed which UK beaches stay the warmest and sunniest throughout autumn.

Cromer Beach in Norfolk is the UK’s warmest autumn beach, with average temperatures of 17C throughout the season.

Cromer beach is also the sunniest beach in the UK all year round, with an average of 7.2 hours of sun per day during autumn.

Visitors to Cromer can watch the fishing boats catch the world-famous “Cromer crabs” while sitting on the warm sand and soaking up the sun.

Art lovers will also appreciate the genuine Banksy sprayed onto a sea wall at the town’s east beach.

Porthcurno Beach in Cornwall is the second warmest beach in the UK outside the summer months.

The beach boasts an average temperature of 13.1C in autumn, which is still warm enough to enjoy, but worth taking an extra layer just to be on the safe side.

The research also found that Kynance Cove, also in Cornwall, ranked as the third warmest beach during the autumn months, with average temperatures of 13C.

Two Cornwall beaches made it into the top three warmest, which given its southern location is unsurprising, and Kynance Cove in particular is a must visit this autumn with clear water and golden sand.

For anyone hoping to get away this autumn, Away Resorts has released new deals on UK holidays in October and November, with prices from £9pp a night.

Away Resorts has 25 holiday parks across the nation, including in Cornwall, Essex, Scotland, the Isle of Wight and Yorkshire.

All the parks are in coastal locations, so you can enjoy the outdoors no matter which resort they pick.

You’ll be able to make the most of your staycation even during the colder months, thanks to indoor heated pools, activities and entertainment day and night at selected holiday parks.

There are many accommodation types available, too, from classic caravans to luxury lodges and properties with private hot tubs.

Research has shown that Brits actually prefer to holiday in the UK rather than going on “boring” two week holidays.

This mum revealed how she keeps costs down when booking staycations.
