The first Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer will probably make you cry.
Nearly two years after the death of Chadwick Boseman, Marvel, has released the trailer for the highly anticipated Black Panther sequel. According to the film’s synopsis, “Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Leticia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira), and the Dora Milaje, fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda.”
In the trailer, which was debuted to fans at San Diego Comic-Con on July 23, Queen Ramonda delivers a powerful speech as a mural of T’Challa (Boseman) flashes on the screen. “I am queen of the most powerful nation in the world and now my entire family is gone,” she says. “Have I not given everything?”
Of course, the trailer’s debut made a huge impact on fans—as well as the Black Panther cast. “Just played the Wakanda Forever trailer in the room and now everyone, and I mean everyone, is crying,” Marvel.com editor Rachel Paige tweeted alongside a video from the event.
