The Casamigos Halloween Party Brought To You By Those Who Drink It

The annual Casamigos Halloween party is the buzziest event of the year in Hollywood and the most coveted invitation to score. Hosted on Friday night by Casamigos tequila co-founders Rande Gerber, George Clooney, and Mike Meldman at a private home in Beverly Hills, the legendary bash attracted a long list of celebrities and Hollywood tycoons. Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly, Brian Grazer, Taylor Lautner, Leslie Mann, Trevor Noah, and Judd Apatow are just a handful of the boldfacers who attended.

As guests arrived, they were greeted by the infamous Casamigos Ice Shot Bell. Served by skeletons, guests tested their skills as they threw shots of tequila from the ice bucket, hoping they could hit the bell and take a shot.

“The moment you enter, you are treated with Casamigos ice shots,” says Gerber. “You take a shot from an ice shot and throw it at a Casamigos bell. It’s a perfect way to enter our wild Casamigos Halloween party.”

The home was decked out with neon-lit art installations, a black and white Hitchcock-style video mapping of birds flying through the trees, a black-lit neon agave patch, and a custom technology-lit portal with a visual art experience that guided guests to the expansive backyard.

Gerber told Forbes.com that he likes to keep the party to one or two rooms with an indoor and outdoor area so that it feels unified. “We always have an area for guests who want to let loose and dance as the night goes on and the party picks up the pace,” he says. “We keep it cool and cozy with great lighting and an intimate atmosphere so everyone feels comfortable.”

Guests enjoyed delicious cocktails including the Spicy Cucumber Jalapeno Margarita, Blood Orange Margarita, and Smoky Casa Paloma which were served from diamond mirrored bars lined with an illuminated bottle display.

Gerber and his wife Cindy Crawford wore costumes inspired by Yellowstone.

Party invitees start planning their costumes months in advance. They look to stylists, costume designers, and set makeup artists to help create their looks— many even come in group or partner costumes such as Bonnie and Clyde.

Rebel Wilson attended the party with a posse of Barbie dolls, for example, along with a Ken doll, all in boxes. Actress Leslie Mann roller skated around the party with her comedian husband, Judd Apatow. Paris Hilton arrived dressed as Sailormoon. Brody Jenner came disguised as Dr. Anthony Fauci with his girlfriend Tia Blan as the virus. Kaia Gerber donned a black latex suit with a slick short bob.

Then there’s Stacy Bendet Eisner, the founder and CEO of Alice + Olivia, who says that her friends and fellow guests start asking her months in advance what they should dress up as for the party. “This year, we’re going for boss Barbies with pink suits, blond hair and Barbie glasses.”

Spicy Cucumber Jalapeno Margarita

Ingredients

1.5 oz. Casamigos Reposado Tequila

.75 oz. Fresh Blood Orange Juice

.75 oz. Fresh Lime Juice

.5 oz. Simple Syrup

Methodology

Combine all ingredients into a shaker. Add ice, shake and strain into a rocks glass. Add fresh ice and garnish with a blood orange wheel.

Gerber has a great eye for style and design and loves to travel. Casamigos was started at his and Clooney’s adjacent homes in Cabo San Lucas, named “house of friends,” which was where the name Casamigos evolved from.
