Just some heartbreaking news coming out of the ice cream bar community today. Klondike announced that the Choco Taco has been discontinued after over 40 years.

Fans of Klondike’s Choco Taco are saying goodbye to the beloved ice cream truck mainstay.

The dessert giant discontinued the iconic chocolatey treat that’s been sold for almost four decades, PEOPLE confirms. 

According to a rep for Klondike, which is owned by Unilever, the Choco Taco was entirely discontinued in July due to an unprecedented spike in demand for different Klondike products over the past two years.

This one hurts, guys.

The Choco Taco has been my go-to order at the ice cream truck since I was a wee-little knee scraper, barely old enough to locate his dick, let alone eat ice cream without half of it dribbling down his arm or spilling entirely. After my fifth consecutive Fudgesicle had slopped off its popsicle stick and hit the asphalt — I was a preemie and significantly less coordinated than even a three-year-old should have been — my mom decided to order me something more spill-proof from the ice cream man.

Enter the Choco Taco. Fluffy vanilla ice cream run through with ribbons of caramel, encased in a waffle cone tortilla and topped with chocolate and peanuts. Not only did the waffle cone barrier protect my lily-white Mickey Mouse tee shirt, but the taste of that Choco Taco was fucking divine. Truly a next-level ice cream bar. And a choice selection at the ice cream truck window…
