The choppy fringe is the celebs’ new favourite hair update

0

Is it us, or is every celeb and their dog getting a fringe cut in? Just this week, Jennifer Lopez debuted a choppy fringe paired with a cottagecore cosy jumper and strappy backless heels while collaborating on a new campaign with fashion brand Coach.

We may be manifesting brighter spring days, but until April rolls around, Jennifer has us rethinking our winter hair aesthetic. She updated her long, caramel hair with a pair of shaggy, choppy bangs that add delicious texture and movement. The piecey shape is enough to make a pretty statement, but less heavy than a full-on bang. The gappy fringing creates a cutesy peekaboo effect that feels more relaxed and lightweight as we head into spring, plus the eyebrow-length shape is long enough that it’ll be nearing curtain bang territory, so it can be tucked back in time for summer.

Elsewhere, we’ve seen a whole squad of celebs feeling a choppy fringe moment. Camila Cabello has been rocking a feathery, lash-skimming fringe since the end of last year, and Jenna Ortega’s shaggy lob and choppy bangs have us dialling our salon asap. Ciara swapped out her XXL bronde strands for a mussy wet-look lob, complete with piecey fringe, and Dua Lipa has remixed the trend with her own choppy side-fringe (also set to be massive for 2023).

So, it looks like the celebs have spoken, the choppy fringe is the A-list-approved way to update your hair between now and summer. Here are some of our favourite ways to wear a choppy fringe…
