The CN Metropole announces that it is going into bankruptcy proceedings – Spain’s News

The Metropole Swimming Club today issued a
official statement, signed by its president, in which he informs that, due to
their economic situation, will carry out an employment regulation file and will enter bankruptcy proceedings. This is the full statement:

“Given the situation of inability to meet the current payment commitments that our entity faces, we are forced to inform you of the need to implement
administrative and legal procedures to seek solutions that determine the continuity of the Metropole Swimming Club.

At the moment, our accounts are suffering from the harsh reality of the historical consequences derived from previous decisions on salary policy or the exemption from fees, which added to the
tear caused by COVID 19, the increase in the price of costs due to inflation, the loss of partners, the rejection of the viability plan proposed by this board of directors at the last Extraordinary Meeting on July 15, have ended up leading the Club to an unfeasible operating scenario. Expenses exceed income, and we cannot face this alone. We need the commitment and co-responsibility of the partners.

We emphasize that the financial situation of the Club is critical. The monthly economic gap is more than 60,000 euros, of which the increase in the electricity bill exceeds 60% of this figure. Therefore, before the
Notice of power cut due to non-payment (tripled since the beginning of the year, which will mean an excess of more than €300,000 in this year 2022) encourages us to communicate the economic reality in which we are immersed.

The complicated state in which our entity finds itself urges us to continue with a line of action that includes the reduction of activity costs
; In this sense, we must consider eliminating the costs of the services of the companies that cover the goal, the cleaning of the changing rooms, the gym and the lifeguard, among others. The situation is extreme and, therefore, we have to make decisions of this nature.

On the other hand, it is necessary to rationalize salaries and personnel -not dimensioned to the current situation we are suffering-, the suppression of one or some sports sections that are most deficient -they exceed half a million euros in losses- and other measures that are they are finishing specifying for its implementation. Thus,
the administrative procedure of the Employment Regulation File and the Insolvency of Creditors are unavoidable as measures that can help solve the current situation.

We will continue working to reverse the situation, but they must understand that a solution is not possible without capitalization and, therefore, we must assume the consequences of the decisions adopted in the last Assemblies«.
