If Christmas market openings and festive cocktail invites haven’t given you enough of a nudge to elevate your wardrobe ahead of party season, H&M’s sequin-adorned Christmas collection might be just the ticket. Absolutely bursting with colour-pop blazers, metallics and feather trims, it’s everything you need to perfectly encapsulate December through your sartorial choices. And we’re here for it.
I don’t know about you, but I’m embracing yuletide joy in a big way this year. 2020 was, well… not worth thinking about, and thanks to my almost entirely COVID-ridden family, 2021 didn’t fare much better. I have high hopes for this year’s festive season – so it’s perfect timing that H&M’s latest Christmas party collection is officially available to shop.
The line – aptly named Starry Nights and fronted by actress Chloë Sevigny & musician Anderson Paak – combines irresistible colours with iridescent textures to serve up a whole host of opportunities to bring the glam.

As for the collection’s headline piece? That’d be a colour-pop trouser suit which is adorned in the hue of the season: Elle Woods fuchsia. Not one for those devoted to head-to-toe neutrals, the Barbie pink shade has been seen splashed across Valentino’s entire AW22 collection, as well as on the runways at Huishan Zhang, Richard Quinn, Molly Goddard and Poster Girl. And now, on this perfect-for-anyone-who-hates-a-dress suit.
Elsewhere, sequins are plentiful, with a high-neck silver sequinned dress, fringed sequin slip dress – inspired by XXL fringing at Erdem and Stella McCartney – and dazzling pair of sequin trousers completing the direction. It would seem that the masterminds behind this range and many-a luxury lines this season have awakened their inner magpies, with sparkles, sequins and OTT embellishments really big news.
If it’s statement accessories you’re after, you’re well in luck. This year’s offering is designer-inspired and elevated – including a pair of statement platform heels (in a Mary Jane silhouette, no less, which is set to be big news in 2023) and over-the-knee boots. Of course, a Christmas collection wouldn’t be complete without a pair of said knee-highs, particularly after Balmain and Gianvito Rossi’s recent drops.
