Ah, there’s nothing like the joy of getting stuck into new books. The perfect escape from re-watching your favourite show on Netflix for the 26746th time, a new book will immediately transport you to another world filled with mystery/romance/history/alternative universes – all depending on what you fancy. And whilst it’s easy to mindlessly scroll through TikTok’s, or half-listening to a podcast, it’s a task that requires your full attention – and so passes the time like no other.
Luckily, if you’re after a holiday read (whether that’s abroad or in your garden during the heatwave), there are plenty of new books coming out in July 2022 to keep you occupied.
Need proof? We’ve got some highly-anticipated follow-ups from authors such as Bolu Babalola, who thrilled us with her expansive debut, Love in Colour; Sayaka Murata, whose novel Convenience Store Woman hasn’t stopped popping up on our Insta Grids since its release; and Jo Bloom, whose first novel, Ridley Road, was recently adapted for BBC One.
If fiction isn’t your bag, we’ve also selected plenty of new non-fiction books, which are compelling and educational: see Ken Auletta’s searing analysis of Harvey Weinstein and his crimes in Hollywood Ending; Jill Nader’s heartfelt memoir, Love from the Pink Palace, which tells the stories of her and friends’ lives during the AIDs crisis (yes, that Jill from It’s A Sin); and Tiwalola Ogunlesi’s debut book, Confident and Killing It – an empowering guide for all women who want to live their best lives.
After more books content? We’ve got sleep books, cookbooks, poetry books, romance novels, true crime books, autobiographies, vegetarian cookbooks, mental health books and adult colouring books. We’ve also got coffee table books, summer books, vegan cookbooks and books by black authors. Don’t say we don’t treat you.
Yep, there really is something for everyone. With that in mind, here are GLAMOUR’s 11 best new books of July 2022.
