Now, instead of a single pair of roof panels, the Hummer features an additional pair of removable panels for the back passengers to have some fun. As General Motors fans may tell you, T-tops were prone to leaking as the aged and sort of a pain to keep maintained. Only time will tell this go-around, hopefully the Hummer’s lofty price tag will ensure the car isn’t built to dubious 1980s standards.
While it’s unlikely anyone would consider the GMC Hummer to be a “boring” vehicle, the T-tops, called the “Infinity Roof,” ensures that. However, it will likely take more than creative roof construction to give Hummer sales the jumpstart it desperately needs. The cars have experienced single digit sales numbers in the past, and there is no guarantee that bringing back T-tops under a different name will help things.
