The championship will bring together more than a hundred runners of all ages
San Esteban de Gormaz (Soria) hosts this Saturday the Regional Adapted Cross Country and Inclusive Cross Country Championship. The event will commemorate International Disability Day, December 3, and will bring together runners of all ages.
More than a hundred athletes from all parts of the community will participate in an event with participants from 15 different clubs, including Impulso Global, Ande Soria and San Esteban from Soria.
The event, organized by the Castilla y León Adapted Sports Federation and CD San Esteban with the collaboration of the San Esteban de Gormaz City Council, will take place from 11 am in the El Sotillo park in the town of Soria.
The Championship will host several races, starting with the smallest, which will be followed by the lower adapted categories and those of age. The highlight will come with the inclusive race, in which runners with and without disabilities will share the circuit.
Adrián Parras, great favorite
The athlete from Valladolid, Adrián Parras, starts as a favourite, not only in the adapted category, but also in the absolute category. The runner from Campo Grande has just landed from his World Cup event in California. There he was proclaimed team world champion and fourth individual, in a World Cup organized by Virtus. Along with the man from Valladolid, athletes of the stature of Diego Postigo, also from Campo Grande, Ander Olaso from ONCE Castilla y León or the native Miguel Celorrio will compete. In turn, more than thirty local athletes from the San Esteban Athletics will try to wrest the title of champion from Parras.
The awards ceremony of the event is set at 1:30 p.m.
The competition has the support of the San Esteban de Gormaz City Council, the Junta de Castilla y León, Full Inclusion Castilla y León and Huf.
