If you’ve been following the Kardashian-Jenners since their early days on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, you’ll know that the stylish siblings have always loved a body-con dress: Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe in particular. The show skyrocketed to fame in the early 2010s, after all—there was no better time for skintight Hervé Léger bandage dresses. Over the years, the five siblings’ personal styles may have evolved, but their penchant for form-fitting frocks has never quite quit (Kim, for instance, has been favoring Balenciaga’s spandex catsuits lately). This weekend on Instagram, Kylie posted a new photo with Kendall and Kim, and their trio of summery outfits showcased a more modern update on their signature body-con dressing.
Posing aboard a yacht for Kylie’s 25th birthday celebrations, the three sisters did figure-hugging dresses in a fresh, new way. Kylie wore a sequined and sheer off-the-shoulder dress, complete with an asymmetrical high slit. It’s a more minimal (and elegant) take on the vacuum-sealed style. Kim opted for a shredded red Rick Owens gown that had one long sleeve, her design favoring the more futuristic vibe she’s been channeling as of late. Kendall, meanwhile, slipped into a two-piece, choosing a glitzy bra top and skirt that’s perfect for a night out.
Fashion in general has been moving back towards body-con silhouettes—see the clingy pieces at Mugler, Jacquemus, and Eckhaus Latta—so the Kardashian-Jenners are clearly onto something with keeping their signature sexy look alive. It would be a sight to see the Kardashian-Jenners slip back into their 2010s club wear—but their 2022 takes on the vibe is pretty close. They’re a little more (okay a lot more) current.
