The Killers return to Scotland for more ‘magical moments’

Las Vegas band The Killers are finally set to take the stage at Falkirk stadium on Monday night after a two-year delay.

Falkirk Stadium was originally chosen to host the opening show of a nine-date tour in May 2020, before the coronavirus pandemic reared its head.

The band initially only planned one night at the stadium on June 6, but as demand for tickets grew exponentially, another show was added on June 7.

The 50,000-strong audience will be treated to hits such as When We Were Young, Somebody Told Me, and Human.

Lead singer Brandon Flowers told STV News that the band’s previous performances in Scotland were something he would “just never forget”.

The Mr Brightside hitmakers took the stage at TRNSMT festival in 2018, before jumping on stage at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow later that same night to deafening cheers.

Flowers told STV: “We do look forward to going to Scotland. We’ve had some magical moments there, moments we’ll never forget.

“TRSNMT was out of this world, and then we went back to where we started and played King Tut’s the same night. And those kind of…we love doing things like that and those are the kind of moments that, you know, again, you just never forget.

“They’re part of our repertoire now, and I don’t know if we’ll be able to hit King Tut’s again after this next gig. We may try, but we’re looking forward to it.”

Drummer Ronnie Vanucci Jr. added that his favourite part of performing in Scotland was Irn-Bru, and the “minerality of the water”.

The group will arrive in Falkirk fresh off two nights at the Emirates Stadium in London.

Their two-night stint will be the first to grace the stadium since 2018, supported by Blossoms on Monday and Supergrass on Tuesday.
