Following a two-year postponement, The Lumineers will finally get to headline the home of the Colorado Rockies this summer as part of a 2022 tour behind new album “Brightside.”
The Denver-based band’s July 22 concert at Coors Field will also feature opening performances from acclaimed Colorado singer-songwriters Gregory Alan Isakov and Daniel Rodriguez (of Elephant Revival). The date is one of 15 rescheduled shows on the band’s larger, 48-date U.S. tour for “Brightside,” which was released on Jan. 14.
Originally scheduled for Aug. 29, 2020, this summer’s Coors Field show is also the only Colorado concert on The Lumineers’ tour roster through September.
“We were supposed to tour this past summer and fall and made a hard decision not to,” Lumineers singer Wesley Schultz told The Denver Post last month. “It felt like we were being pessimistic, but you could also read the tea leaves.”
Those leaves are looking greener as spring and summer approach, with the band’s upcoming tour taking them to some of the biggest stadiums, arenas, amphitheaters and music festivals in the country, May 18 through Sept. 25.
Coors Field will also host Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Poison, and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts on Thursday, July 21 — incidentally the day before The Lumineers concert. That show was originally announced in December 2019 and scheduled for summer 2020.
Tickets for The Lumineers are $39-$149, according to Ticketmaster, and available now at mlb.com/rockies/tickets/concerts.
