The Night Manager director Sandeep Modi recalls how Anil Kapoor turned savior on the sets of the show : Bollywood News – Bollywood Hungama

Shelly Rungta and Shantanu Sengupta are all set for the cinematic showdown of the year with The Night Manager. Disney+Hotstar introduces you to the spiraling world of revenge, deception and revelation, in this intriguing spy thriller that is based on John le Carré’s novel by the same name. While the Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie starrer English version has already wooed the audiences, the Hindi-language adaptation, starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Anil Kapoor in lead roles, premiered on the OTT platform last week. Now that the show is gaining its share of fans, it seems that the shooting process was not always a cakewalk.

A source close to the series recalled an incident where Anil Kapoor turned savior on the sets when the crew faced some major trouble. The source said, “When shooting for a show of this scale and grandeur, one is sure to face many logistical challenges. Well, the crew of The Night Manager was stuck in a situation where they were denied their shoot location just a few hours prior to their schedule. With panic and stress taking over, guess who came to everyone’s rescue? Our one and only, superstar Anil Kapoor!”

Recalling this experience, Director Sandeep Modi added, “When five people want the best for the show, there’s friction. We had booked Oberoi Shimla to shoot  but we couldn’t get it for some reason. We got Anil Kapoor to actually call the hotel and request them to give us the hotel to shoot.”

Produced by The Ink Factory and Banijay Asia, the series is created and directed by Sandeep Modi with Priyanka Ghosh as the second director. The Night Manager also stars Sobhita Dhulipala, Tillotama Shome, Ravi Behl, Saswata Chatterjee, among others in supporting roles and it is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
