Per the product’s instructions, I only use the retinol eye stick at night since I don’t want to step into the sun with retinol on during the day. (Retinol is known to increase your skin’s sensitivity to sunlight, which is why derms recommend using it at night and following up with sunscreen in the daytime to minimise retinol burn and increased sensitivity to the sun.)
My evening skin-care routine goes as follows: I cleanse my skin, apply a gentle essence, follow with a retinol serum, then apply the Peace Out Retinol Eye Stick, and finish with a facial oil infused with hyaluronic acid for the utmost moisture. Because my skin isn’t sensitive, I use the stick two to three times a week, but it’s advised that if you do have delicate skin, start by using it once a week until you fully adjust. With consistent use, I’ve noticed the areas under my eyes look smoother, more relaxed, and more hydrated.
As someone who considers herself a beauty buff, I’m not afraid to shell out for high-quality skin- care products. That said, I’m impressed that for only $28, this product delivers—proof that you can find effective formulas at all price points.
