After decades of tweed and twinsets, Kate and Will are the ‘cool’ royals we were waiting for.

Young, glamorous and not afraid to break with tradition, they can rock a red carpet (the ‘Kate Effect’ is reported to be worth £1 billion to the fashion industry) and hang with Jay-Z and Beyoncé. What’s more, they look genuinely in love.

Just when we thought they couldn’t get any cuter, we recently discovered what Prince William’s pet name for Kate is – and it’s so damn sweet.

According to Her.ie, William calls his wife ‘poppet’. In return, Kate is alleged to call her husband ‘babe’. Goals.

Interestingly, Kate and Will’s fate to end up together may have been written in the stars; when Kate was just 13-years-old, she appeared in a play at her school, St. Andrew’s, where she played a character who had her palm read by a ‘fortune teller’.

Just as fate would have it, she was told she’d marry a ‘handsome man, a rich gentleman’ from London – curious! And the kicker is, the character’s name was William. Coincidence? Or destiny?
