The Princess of Wales just proved that skinny jeans aren’t dead

Just when Gen Z almost had me convinced that skinny jeans were DOA, the Princess of Wales came in hot with some much-needed CPR.

On April 27, the Princess of Wales made a public appearance in Wales wearing an undoubtedly cool pair of gray skinny jeans, a cozy green turtleneck sweater, chunky hiking boots, and an olive jacket from a 2020 collaboration between Alexa Chung and Barbour, one of Middleton’s longtime favorite brands.

According to People, Prince William and Kate made a stop at the Little Dragon Pizza Van to pick up 22 pies for the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team. Their order included pepperoni, Margherita, barbecue chicken, and goat cheese pizzas, which just further confirms that the princess has impeccable taste.

“The Princess asked if we make our own dough—and said that they love making pizzas with their children,” the pizza van owner Peter Morris told the publication. “Making pizza for the future king and queen is surreal.” We bet!

By coupling her dark-wash denim with other classic pieces like her Barbour coat and a simple pair of diamond drop earrings, Kate Middleton proved once again that a good pair of high-waisted skinny jeans will always be a necessary part of any capsule wardrobe. Sorry to all the straight-leg and baggy denim sitting in my closet right now, but I’m putting my skinny jeans back at the top of the rotation.
