“I like to believe I’m good at getting things done.”

Anna Sorokin, the 31-year-old scammer who pretended to be a German heiress named Anna Delvey, is now admitting her wrongdoings and hoping for redemption.

During a recent interview with NBC News‘ Savannah Sellers, Anna said trying to defraud banks was “definitely unethical.” And despite the buzz the Netflix series Inventing Anna created, she “would not encourage anybody else to follow my footsteps.”

Anna was arrested in 2018, and in 2019, she was sentenced to between 4–12 years in prison for stealing more than $200,000 from the NY elite. Anna was later released on parole in February 2021, but was arrested by ICE six weeks later for overstaying her visa.

Despite still being in custody, Anna has been looking toward the future, focusing on new business ventures — including NFT projects.

“Hopefully, I’ll be given a chance to focus all my energy into something legal. And I like to believe I’m good at getting things done.”

“I’d love to be given an opportunity…for people not to just dismiss me as like a quote unquote scammer, and just see what I’m going to do next.”

Anna went on to reveal that she never meant to harm anyone — “I’m not just like this vicious like scamming person trying to like take advantage of anybody who’s just like stupid enough to fall for it.”

She insists that she didn’t act with “malicious intent,” but ultimately chose to resort to “unorthodox methods” to get the things she wanted. Anna is urging people not to follow in her footsteps.
