Exciting though it may be, packing for a holiday is something that’ll have me second-guessing my entire wardrobe. The SIMONMILLER x Mango collection may have just answered my prayers, though, as the one-stop vacation shop I have long yearned for.
Those with their finger on the pulse will undoubtedly know of SIMONMILLER and its playful world of luxury. It launched back in 2008 with Creative Director and CEO Chelsea Hansford at its helm, and has since grown into a full lifestyle brand that features footwear and accessories, as well as ready-to-wear items, with a focus on inclusivity, confidence, quality and wearability.
Launching today, just in time for summer, this limited edition capsule unites the West Coast Cali vibes embedded in SIMONMILLER with that of Mango‘s Mediterranean nature, resulting in 40 items inspired by a world that lies under the sea.
Speaking to Chelsea, the line-up was intended to feel unique. “I imagined a fisherwoman in a mosaic house under the sea, catching exotic fish with an eclectic net filled with shells and beads,” she said. “She shades herself from the harsh sun with large raffia umbrellas while metallic reflections hit the water.” Eat your heart out, The Little Mermaid.
From two piece sets to bikinis, cover-ups and beach bags, the SIMONMILLER x Mango collection is full to the brim with suitcase essentials that are – without a doubt – going to fly off the shelves. All that’s missing is a good SPF and a plane ticket.
“I debate whether the dresses – especially the crochet ones – will be the first to sell out, or the accessories,” said Chelsea. “I truly love so many of the pieces and want to wear them all summer long, but if I had to choose my favourite I’d say the sunglasses. They are so bold and cool.”
It’s no secret that Mango has a successful history of collaborations, with Camille Charrière’s sell-out edit being the most recent, but I’ve got my bets on this one being the most popular to date. It ticks virtually every spring/summer catwalk trend off my to-buy list, all while maintaining that affordable high-street price tag. Race you to the checkout.
