Victor Wembanyama, the No. 1 pick in last week’s NBA Draft, is very tall, though his true height has been up for debate.
Wembanyama said last year he was 7-foot-3, while the NBA listed him at 7-foot-4 in this year’s draft guide. The 19-year-old Frenchman has also been called as “short” as 7-foot-2 and as tall as 7-foot-5.
Now, thanks to the San Antonio Spurs, we have an official number for Wembanyama’s height. The team is listing its newest prized pick at 7-foot-3 1/2-inches, without shoes.
Hopefully, this announcement ends all the talk about Wembanyama’s height for a while, because it’s clear that the teenage sensation is tired of talking about.

The NBA changed its height policy prior to the 2019-20 season, requiring players’ “official height” to be measured without shoes.
In addition to his height, the Spurs also announced Wembanyama’s plans for summer league. He will not accompany the team to Sacramento for a pair of upcoming exhibition games but will join them in Las Vegas for the start of the NBA Summer League.
San Antonio’s first game in Las Vegas is set for July 7.
