The worst place to live in England has been named – ‘loud, obnoxious and dumb’

England’s worst places to live have been named in a poll of 11,172 Britons. Asking locals to nominate their own communities, the annual survey by iLiveHere has broken records this year, with more Britons than ever taking part.

Peterborough was the winner for three “glorious years of taking the crown” but it didn’t win this year.

Instead, it was Aylesbury which came top with 25 percent more votes than second place Huddersfield.

In third place was Luton.

One local said: “As you enter into Aylesbury, you find yourself in a traffic jam.

“Don’t worry, it’s all part of the tour. Being stuck in the traffic allows you to observe the magnificent beauty of all the ‘trashy citizens’ that live there.”

And another commented: “What can I say? The fact that Stanley Kubrick saw fit to film some of A Clockwork Orange here was horribly prescient.”

And a local recommended this tourist attraction: “[the people] are loud, obnoxious and dumb.

“We need to protect these species; they’re not endangered by any means, but they are a great tourist attraction to laugh and scoff at.”

DON’T MISS

The monument was built on a roman fort and is a popular attraction.

Huddersfield is also the birthplace of Rugby League and sports fans will want to go to John Smith’s Stadium to watch a game.

Rounding up the top three worst places to live in England was Luton.

Most famous for its airport, the town still has plenty to offer holidaymakers who are not just passing through.

On Tripadvisor, the top things to do in the area include Stockwood Discovery Centre, Wrest Park, Wardown House, Museum and Gallery and the Barton Hills National Nature Reserve.
