The Young and the Restless star Andrea Evans dies aged 66 after health battle

Soap opera star Andrea Evans has died of cancer.

The actress, who starred in One Life To Live and The Young And The Restless, was 66.

Andrea’s death was announced by casting director Don Carroll, according to Deadline.

She was diagnosed with cancer before her death.

Andrea Evans famously played Patti Weaver in The Young and the Restless, Rebecca Hotchkiss in Passions, and Tawny Moore in The Bold and the Beautiful.

One of her most popular performances was as Tina Lord in hit soap opera One Life To Live.

She played Tina until 1981, before making a comeback to the role in 1985.

During her second stint as Tina, Andrea was nominated for her first Daytime Emmy Award in 1988.

Andrea left One Life To Live fans overjoyed when she reprised her famous role in 2008 and again in 2011.

F‌ans rushed to social media to pay tribute to the iconic actress following the sad news of her death.

One person tweeted: “Tawny was such a hoot! RIP to the iconic Andrea Evans. #BoldandBeautiful.”

Another fan added: “We have absolutely lost a daytime legend! Rest in the highest power Andrea Evans! #OneLifeToLive #Passions.”

The official Young And The Restless Twitter account also paid tribute to one of their biggest stars.

The show posted a throwback image with the caption: “We have absolutely lost a daytime legend! Rest in the highest power Andrea Evans! #OneLifeToLive #Passions.”

Andrea’s One Life To Live co-star Robin Strasser paid a heartfelt tribute to the actress.

Robin remembered the star as “a woman who was super smart & energized a heat seeking missile. That’s a compliment”.

“You knew when you worked with her, it’d be like going head to head with a champion. I admired her daring. I hate the disease that took her,” the American actress added.

Andrea is survived by her husband Steve Rodriguez and daughter Kylie.
