If you were to narrow down 2022’s biggest fashion trends so far, your list probably going a little something like this: Barbiecore everything, matching sets galore, and oversized blazers. Oh, and maybe low-rise jeans. But we don’t talk about those.
In fact, it’s almost impossible to pop for a coffee on our lunch break or go for a social media scroll without seeing at least one effortlessly stylish OOTD featuring an oversized blazer. Once seen as a slightly stuffy workwear option to be cinched, fitted and buttoned-up, this year saw the introduction of the roomy, relaxed blazer; following suit (sorry) from 2021 and 2022’s penchant for slouchier, more casual silhouettes.
And we are not complaining. Our oversized blazers have fast become the most hard-working pieces in our wardrobes, easily thrown on over anything from floaty summer dresses to chunky knitwear in the colder months. Essentially, oversized blazers are a year-round outfit staple, and will undoubtedly become the most versatile piece in your wardrobe.
