A monstrously-powered 1968 Dodge Charger, stampeding down streets with 1,000 horsepower and 950 lb-ft of torque underhood, is hitting the auction this November, at a Mecum sale in Las Vegas. This Hellephant-powered restomod’s pun game is strong: it appropriately wears the name “Dumbo,” which nicely matches its 7.0L supercharged V8 powerplant, connected to the rear wheels via a Stage II T56 Magnum six-speed manual, as well as its gray skin. Surprise, surprise! Said Hellephant motor runs on 93-octane fuel.

Moreover, Dumbo is equipped with a Magnum Force suspension, Viking coilovers, a Strange S60 rear end with 4.10 gearing, and Rushforth wheels strapped with Wilwood brakes. There’s not much detail on the listing, but what Mecum does mention is it’s bathed in a Destroyer Gray exterior with blue Hellephant graphics, LED lighting units, a TTi exhaust, and billet door handles from Ringbrothers.

Inside, you’ll find  grey seats with a unique center console decorated with prominent Hellephant badging. Also featured are a three-spoke steering wheel, toggle switches on the dashboard, and Mopar logos on the door panels.

Without a pre-auction estimate, it’s hard to say where the register will ring. However, the Hellephant crate engine alone originally cost US$29,995 and was capped at a 100-unit run, so there’s potential for a strong sales figure, here. One such crate, sans car, sold for a cool US$53,000 in April 2022, so tack that amount onto the value of a good ’68 Charger.
