This Arizona Hyatt Resort Helps Guests Schedule In Some Quality Pool Time

A stay at a hotel might include some time at the pool and a resort in Arizona aims to help guests schedule in water time fun or relaxation.

Recently, the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa appointed “Pooltime Planners” who will provide suggested pool day itineraries to ensure every type of guest has a good time amid the resort’s 2.5-acre “water playground.”

The resort’s aquatic setting includes 10 pools, 45 waterfall fountains including a Zen adults-only pool, both family and adults-only cabanas, a built-in white sand beachfront, and a three-story high-speed waterslide.

“Our ‘water playground’ is one of our resort’s most commonly frequented spaces, as it provides a relaxing and fun reprieve from the Arizona sunshine and desert heat,” said Kimi Thomas, the resort’s marketing manager. “We created the Pooltime Planner position as there are so many activities to choose from and we wanted to help make our guests’ pool days as seamless and hassle-free as possible.”

Thomas also said that these Pooltime Planners are available daily to provide guests with suggestions on best enjoying the resort’s waterside activities. “They can also share custom-curated itineraries with guests based on the type of day they would like to have.”

Along with families, the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa’s Pooltime Planners can assist couples, solo travelers and large or meeting groups in creating poolside itineraries. Taking on this responsibility are the leaders at the resort’s pool and recreation team. “And they’ve already gotten started,” said Thomas.

Thomas stated that guests can find the Pooltime Planners around the resort’s pool area daily but they can also be reached via their concierge team if needed. Guests with a day-pass can have access to this concierge service alongside those who are staying at the resort overnight.

When asked for examples of what these Pooltime Planners can schedule for guests, Thomas suggested that families can have an itinerary of kid-friendly activities ranging from participating in sand-sculpture building contests, to partaking in a Family Float Race or a balloon tossing contest. Alongside its water playground, the resort has a “Fun Zone” containing a mini putting green, a ping pong table, a rock-climbing wall and lawn games.

As a plan for couples, they could perhaps enjoy some quality time together within a private cabana with a scheduled couple’s massage. Then later on, after having lunch, they could take a mixology class at the poolside grotto or head to the main pool for an adults-only yoga session.

To her knowledge, Thomas said that she has not heard of other hotels or resorts offering a similar amenity to the Pooltime Planners. “However, we think it would be a great idea as it would offer tremendous value to a guest’s stay.”
