Nathan is a home cook known for his brilliant slow cooker and air fryer recipes.
He showed viewers how to make his crispy, sweet and spicy beef using an air fryer and a pan.
The recipe serves three and takes less than 15 minutes to make.
- Ingredients
- 500g thin-cut beef steaks, cut into strips
- Two tbsp cornflour
- Low-calorie oil spray
- One onion, cut into chunks
- A handful of sugar snap peas or mangetout, halved lengthways
- Three tbsp sriracha
- Three tbsp hoisin sauce
- Three tbsp honey
- Four garlic cloves, crushed
- One tsp rice wine vinegar
- One tbsp sesame oil
- Two tbsp sweet chilli sauce
- Noodles and sliced red chillies – to serve
Note: You can use whatever cut of beef, Nathan said “cheap and cheerful” cuts work well for the dish.
Method:
1. Dust the beef strips with the cornflour, spray well with the low-calorie oil and air-fry at 190°C for eight to 10 minutes. If you want it even crispier, keep it in for longer.
2. While the beef is cooking, soften the onion and greens over medium heat in a pan sprayed with a low-calorie oil.
3. Once the beef is cooked, add this to the pan and pour in all the sauce ingredients. Cook over medium heat for one to two minutes to heat through and let the sauce thicken.
4. Serve with pre-cooked noodles or rice.
