POV: you’re loving the bombshell blowdry trend that’s officially everywhere again, but your curls always fall flat. Well, TikTok might have just come up with the answer – once again – with a new viral hack (sort of).
In fact, the technique of pinning curls has been around for yonks, but one TikToker has a specific way of getting that soft-yet-bouncy look. You’ll need a Dyson Airwrap, some sectioning clips or grips and a fair bit of patience.

The video creator, @kukumber_art, who has racked up over 33 million views with her tutorial for her signature curls, creates a waterfall look by first prepping her hair by drying and smoothing it, before tying her hair up into a ponytail, leaving the front pieces.
Then, she uses the round brush attachment on the Airwrap to tackle her curtain bangs, wrapping them upwards for that er, ‘swooshed’ blowdry look we all want.
For the ponytail, she uses the curling attachment to create ringlets, before pinning each curl on top of her head to cool. Later, in a video titled ‘Part 2’, she lets her hair down into cascading curls, raking them through style. Hands up if you’re trying it asap.
Admittedly, the TikToker in question has amazing hair already, with plenty of volume. But others who spotted the trend have tried the technique, too, with impressive results.

One such user was Mikayla Nogueira, who tried pinning her curls all over her head, rather than doing the ponytail trick (which we reckon would work better on ultra-long hair).
Remaining sceptical throughout the process, she finally let her curls down to reveal a big and bouncy look any hairdresser would be proud of. “THE RESULTS OF MY DREAMS OH MY GOSH,” she captioned it. Sold.

Of course, the Dyson Airwrap has many die-hard fans, but with a price tag of £450 it’s not accessible to all. Luckily, the pin curl trick can be used with a tong or a wand, or you could even try a pack of good-old bendy rollers to start with.
Either way, TikTok’s latest viral hair hack has plenty of converts. “I have to try the clips!!!” one wrote, with another adding: “Sooo pretty!!! Love it!! Will try with plastic clips….Thank you!” Agreed.
