Thoma release date in Genshin Impact
Thoma will release alongside the Hu Tao banner rerun.
Thoma was officially released in Genshin Impact on November 2, 2021.
He is featured as a 4-star character in the Hu Tao banner rerun, alongside Diona and Sayu.
Thoma abilities in Genshin Impact
Normal Attack: Swiftshatter Spear
- Normal Attack: Thoma performs up to four consecutive spear strikes.
- Charged Attack: Thoma consumes a portion of the stamina bar and lunges forward, dealing damage to all foes in his path.
- Plunging Attack: Thoma plunges from mid-air, striking the ground below and dealing AoE damage to all nearby enemies.
Elemental Skill: Blazing Blessing
Thoma plunges his spear into the ground and performs a deadly kick that deals AoE Pyro damage. Blazing Blessing also unleashes a Blazing Barrier, which allows Thoma to absorb a set amount of damage.
Elemental Burst: Crimson Ooyoroi
Thoma spins his spear, slicing through his foes with scorching flames that inflict AoE Pyro damage to all nearby foes. While in this state, Thoma (active characters) will Fiery Collapses that deal AoE Pyro damage and summon Blazing Barriers.

Thoma’s Genshin Impact gameplay trailer dropped on November 2, finally confirming what we’ve known about the Kamisato Clan housekeeper, and diving a little bit into his backstory.
As the chief retainer of the Kamisato Clan, Thoma is obviously well versed in both the region’s politics and characters – even if he doesn’t hail from Inazuma himself. It also showcases his sweet Polearm skills, knocking foes about with fire and fury.

Thoma isn’t getting a story quest as a four-star character, but he will have a Hangout Event.
Thoma is known for both his loyalty and kindness, often helping those that find themselves in the foreign lands of the Inazuma region. According to the 2.0 livestream, Thoma is “a rather special character”.
“He has blond hair, different from most other characters in the area, and his identity is naturally a bit of a mystery of its own.”
