But the Evening Standard say the Blues will revisit a move for Alvarez in January after the Mexican made it clear that he wants to move to Stamford Bridge.
In any case, Tuchel and Boehly are in agreement that Chelsea’s midfield is an area that requires urgent attention.
Dinamo Moscow attacking midfielder Arsen Zakharyan is another target, with Chelsea showing keen interest in the 19-year-old.
Chelsea spent around £270m in the summer window and Boehly will again give Tuchel significant funds to spend to invest in the squad in January.
Jorginho and N’Golo Kante both have less than a year left on their deals at the club, while there’s uncertainty over Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s future.
Jorginho is keen on a return to Italy, with Juventus interested in the former Napoli ace.
Kante is keen on staying in west London but Chelsea are considering their options.
The Frenchman’s injury problems have piled up in the last two years but he is the club’s second highest earner.
