Three players who could replace Lionel Messi at PSG

Three players who could replace Lionel Messi at PSG

The Argentine superstar joined PSG in the summer of 2021 on a free transfer after his deal with Barcelona expired. He endured a difficult debut season by his usual standards but has done incredibly well this campaign.

PSG will have a major void to fill if Messi ends up leaving the Parisians this summer as the Argentina international is not just a threat with his goalscoring ability, but his all-round ability on the pitch to help his side create openings and to create something out of nowhere. Here, we will take a look at three players PSG could look at to replace Messi.

Serge Gnabry – Bayern Munich

Serge Gnabry’s future at Bayern Munich looks pretty much up in the air following an average season at the Allianz Arena. He signed a new deal to stay at the Bavarian club until 2026 last summer but has not quite managed to live up to expectations. Gnabry could be on the move away from Bayern this summer and could be on his way to PSG.

Rafael Leao – AC Milan

Rafael Leao is one of the most sought-after forwards in the world right now and looks very much likely to leave AC Milan at the end of the season.

As per reports, Paris Saint-Germain are very much interested in securing the AC Milan winger’s services this summer but could face competition from the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea. Leao’s current deal with the Rossoneri expires next summer leaving the Rossoneri no choice but to cash in on him this summer.

Mohamed Salah – Liverpool

Despite Liverpool’s forgettable season this time around, Mohamed Salah has enjoyed a decent season having 37 goal contributions in 43 games.

Salah could reportedly leave Liverpool at the end of the season with the Reds looking destined to miss out on Champions League football. The Merseysiders reportedly value him at €80 million and that could prove to be a major stumbling block for PSG if they look to replace Messi with Salah.
