Thunder at Rockets: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks (Nov. 29)

Thunder at Rockets: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks (Nov. 29)

The Houston Rockets finish off a three-game homestand with Monday’s visit from Oklahoma City, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over/under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet at Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. Central and can be viewed or streamed via AT&T SportsNet Southwest and NBA League Pass.

Fresh off a woeful run of 15 consecutive losses, the Rockets are suddenly on a winning streak — and an impressive one, at that. The teams Houston (3-16) has defeated in its last two games are Chicago and Charlotte, who are each among the Eastern Conference’s top six teams.

Now, the Rockets enter a stretch where, at least on paper, they could potentially stack several wins together! Starting with Monday’s home game versus the Thunder, Houston’s next four games are against Oklahoma City (6-13) twice, Orlando (4-17), and New Orleans (5-17), and three are within the friendly confines of Toyota Center.

With big man Christian Wood and third-year point guard Kevin Porter Jr. leading the way amid a smaller lineup comprised of more shooters and better floor spacing, the Rockets suddenly have hope — even with rookie guard Jalen Green out for the time being with a hamstring injury.

Hornets at Rockets notable injuries:

As expected, Green is out for the Rockets due to his left hamstring strain, while Kenrich Williams is listed as out for the Thunder with a right ankle sprain. Otherwise, both teams appear to be healthy.

Projected Lineups

  • Point spread: Rockets -2.5
  • Money line: Rockets -135 / Thunder +110
  • Over-under: 215.5 points

Advice and prediction

The Rockets beat the Thunder by 33 points in Houston in late October before losing to them by 12 points at Oklahoma City in mid-November. Locking in defensively on Dort would seem to be critical to Houston’s chances, since the third-year wing scored 8 points on 3-of-9 shooting in the loss and had 34 points on 14-of-22 shooting in OKC’s win.

For all his talent, Green is only 19 years old with a very slender frame, and defense definitely isn’t his strong suit at this point in his career. This could be a game where the defensive rotations and matchups for the Rockets against a player such as Dort are easier with Green on the sideline.

Prediction: Rockets 108, Thunder 104
