The Hub’s own Marty Walsh will travel to Europe next week to meet with government and business leaders at the 2023 World Economic Forum in Davos.
Walsh, the U.S. Labor Secretary, will participate in a panel discussion, “Attracting Talent” on Jan. 17, and “The Future of Jobs” the next day.
The Davos forum in Switzerland is the preeminent meeting of the world’s top economic minds. Walsh said he’s going with labor on his mind.
“Regardless of national boundaries, ensuring that every worker has an equal opportunity to succeed is the only way to build a strong, skilled workforce that meets the needs of every industry,” in said in a statement shared with the Herald.
Brockton goes electric
Brockton will soon install 31 electric vehicle charging stations across the city using a Green Communities Grant issued by the state Department of Energy Resources for $198,000, Mayor Robert F. Sullivan announced.
The grant was part of a $6.2 million “Green Communities” aide package that was one of the final acts of former Gov. Charlie Baker and Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito as they left office at the beginning of the year. Brockton will use the funding to install thirty-one new electric vehicle charging stations around the City.
