Tiger King ‘curse’ strikes again as ANOTHER star dies

Tiger King may have been a viral hit for Netflix, but its stars aren’t faring as well with some speculating the show could be cursed after a number of deaths.

Former reptile dealer Jeff Johnson is the latest victim, dying of suicide at age of 58. His wife, who was reportedly home at the time, immediately called 911 but he was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

The news comes after another Tiger King personality Erik Cowie was found dead in his New York home in September.

Cowie, who cared for the animals in Joe Exotic’s zoo, died of acute and chronic alcohol use.

One of Joe Exotic’s husbands, Travis Maldonado, has also died. He was accidentally shot dead during the filming of the documentary series.

Maldonado was married to Exotic and his longtime partner John Finlay in a three-way ceremony, but died less than four years later, aged 23.

Exotic himself has also seemingly fallen victim to the curse after recently been transferred to a medical facility for treatment for an “aggressive” form of cancer.

The Tiger King star was taken by private plane to the Butner Federal Medical Center in North Carolina from another clinic for inmates in Fort Worth, Texas last week his attorney, John M. Phillips has confirmed.

According to the lawyer, the transfer was supposed to happen later this month and it was hoped the 58-year-old star – whose real name is Joseph Maldonado-Passage – would be sent to Oklahoma, where he could prepare for resentencing and upcoming motions to overturn his conviction.

Exotic who is serving a 22-year prison sentence for 17 federal charges of animal abuse and two counts of attempted murder for hire, said: “Right now I don’t want anyone’s pity and I’m sure Carole Will have her own party over this! What I need is the world to be my voice to be released, they have the proof I DID NOT DO THIS! (sic)“

Exotic is set to be re-sentenced because his original punishment was deemed to be excessive.

And he’s now campaigning to be released from prison in order to get the treatment he needs.
