Tiger Woods Responds to $30 Million Lawsuit From Ex-Girlfriend Erica Herman

In court documents filed on Monday, Tiger Woods responded to the $30 million lawsuit filed against him by his ex-girlfriend Erica Herman, per Page Six.

The golfer has claimed that Herman, who is attempting to get a judge to nullify a non-disclosure agreement she signed in 2017, doesn’t have the right to invoke the Speak Out Act because he hasn’t committed sexual assault or harassment of any kind. The court documents highlight that Herman said he broke an “oral tenancy agreement” when he kicked her out of his home, and in the lawsuit she ticked “no” when asked “does this case involve allegations of sexual abuse.”

Per the NDA, it was required for them to sort things out in private arbitration, with Woods’ lawyers arguing that Herman only invoked the Speak Out Act in an effort to have her complaints heard in public court. “Ms. Herman’s position is utterly meritless,” the documents read. “It is a transparent abuse of the judicial process that undermines the purpose of the federal statute and those whom the statute seeks to protect.”

Herman has not publicly accused Woods of assault.

The 47-year-old golfer is asking the Florida Court to make sure she abides by the arbitration provisions in the NDA. In the docs, Woods also claimed that he provided her with “lodging and financial support” after the split on Oct. 13, 2022. Herman has claimed that she and Woods had an “oral tenancy agreement” to allow her to remain at his property for five years following any potential breakup.

As her lawsuit filed last week, Herman is seeking $30 million, which she claimed is the “reasonable rental value” for five years at his home in Florida. She additionally claimed she was told to pack for a brief solo vacation, but she returned to the Florida residence she found she was locked out and $40,000 in cash she had at the home was “confiscated.”
