TNPL 2023 Playoffs: Qualified Teams, Results, Schedule – All you need to know

An exhilarating season saw four teams qualify for the playoffs in this edition. Lyca Kovai Kings (1st), Dindigul Dragons (2nd), Nellai Royal Kings (3rd) and Madurai Panthers (4th) made it to the playoffs this season.

The top two teams have taken part in the Qualifier 1 whereas the 3rd and 4th placed teams have played out the Eliminator.

The Qualifier 1 and Eliminator were hosted by SCF Stadium in Salem, and the Qualifier 2 and the Final will be taking place at the Indian Cement Company Ground in Tirunelveli.

Qualifier 1 – Lyca Kovai Kings (LKK) vs Dindigul Dragons (DD)

Lyca Kovai Kings stood tall against the high-flying Dindigul Dragons in this match. The match was played at the SCF Cricket Ground in Salem and LKK scored 193 for 7. Teenager B Sachin was the star with 70 runs off just 46 balls.

In reply, Dindigul Dragons could only manage 163 for 9 in their quota of overs and will have to play in the Qualifier 2 to meet LKK again in the Final.

Eliminator – Nellai Royal Kings (NRK) vs Madurai Panthers (MP)

In the eliminator at the SCF stadium, it is Nellai Royal Kings who won a thriller on Saturday.

NRK heaped a massive total of 211 in their 20 overs as Ajitesh Guruswamy (50 off 30 balls), Nidhish Rajagopal (76 off 50 balls) starred with the bat.

Madurai made a superb chase but despite the best efforts of V Aaditya (73 off 50 balls) and Swapnil Singh (48 off 30 balls), they could manage 207 for 4 and fell short of just 4 runs.

NRK will face Dindigul Dragons in Qualifier 2 on Monday while the Panthers are eliminated from the tournament.
