Today, March 20, is the first day of spring and — bleak Bay Area weather or not — Dairy Queen and Rita’s Italian Ice are celebrating with their traditional freebies.
At DQs it’s free vanilla cones — one small swirled soft-serve per person, while supplies last. At Rita’s, it’s a free cup of Italian ice. (That includes their new flavor, gummy bear.)
No purchase is required at either, and you don’t have to be a member of a loyalty program.
In the Bay Area, DQs are located in Antioch, Campbell, Concord, San Bruno, San Jose, San Ramon and Vacaville, according to the company’s website. Juts outside the Bay Area, customers will find locations in Capitola, Manteca, Modesto and Stockton. (Offer not valid at mall locations.)
Find Rita’s locations in Alameda, Brentwood, Castro Valley, Fremont, San Carlos and Santa Clara.
