Lucifer: A look at behind the scenes of series six

Lucifer’s Tom Ellis has taken to Instagram warning his fans over an increase in fake profiles being set up in his name.

Tom has played the titular role in the Netlfix drama since 2016 and has gone on to receive rave reviews and amass an army of fans.

However, the actor now says a number of scammers have set up fake social media profiles in his name – often causing people to part with their money.

In a video on Instagram, Tom said: “Unfortunately, I have to do a little video because people keep pretending to be me on social media.

“Other people keep falling for it and sending money for charitable things, that aren’t really charitable things,” he explained.

“I cannot say it more clearly, I only use this account,” he said before confirming his Instagram and Twitter user handles.

Tom continued: “On any other social media platform, it is not me, It is not me on TikTok I cannot say it more clearly.”

“I’m so sorry for the people that have fallen for that, I feel so resentful for the people that pretend to be me and try to get money out of you, they’re horrible people so please don’t fall for it anymore.”

The actor has attracted a lot of attention since starring in Lucifer

The actor’s co-star Inbar Lavi, who played Eve in the devilish drama expressed her disgust toward the scammers by simply posting: “”F*s.”

Unfortunately for Tom, who shares two children with Eastenders actress Tamzin Outhwaite, it’s not the first time he’s been impersonated online.

In 2017, he warned fans against giving money to a fake account insisting “it’s not me”.

In February the actor said he didn’t use Facebook of Gmail and would never ‘communicate privately with anyone he didn’t know if real life’.

Tom reportedly called the police to his Los Angeles house after a strange package was sent to the property he shares with his wife Meaghan Oppenheimer earlier this year.

The 42-year-old had to get law enforcement to investigate a ‘glitter package’ that turned up on their doorstep, according to TMZ.

The couple were said to have called the Los Angeles Police Department and filed a report after finding the mysterious package ‘creepy’.

The publication reports that the so-called ‘glitter package’ was just a box filled with glitter and was allegedly addressed to Meaghan, not her famous husband – which caused the couple concern.

Lucifer fans caught the last glimpse of their protagonist this autumn on Netflix and despite viewers desperate for a seventh series – it looks like it’ll be the last we see of Mr Morningstar for a while.
