Tom Holland’s latest film Uncharted sees him playing a swoon-worthy action hero

Tom Holland is bringing us another serving of action off the back of the latest, rather explosive, Spider-Man film. 

His next film, Uncharted, is out in February and is packed with action. Which can mean only this: Holland will be flexing (literally, and not so literally) his action man muscles once more.

Uncharted is a prequel story that follows characters from the super popular game series of the same name, which follows a treasure hunter across the world, getting caught up in various exotic mysteries.

Here’s everything we know so far about Holland’s upcoming film.

What is Uncharted about?

Set before the timeline of the game series begins but based on the same characters and story, Uncharted sees a young Drake getting involved with a massive treasure hunt after seasoned treasure hunter Victor “Sully” Sullivan entices him into the adventure, suggesting that if they find the treasure, they will find Drake’s missing brother. But can Sully be trusted?

Hi-jinks, unsurprisingly, are bound to ensue.

Who else is working on Uncharted, and who will be playing who?

Alongside Holland, Mark Wahlberg will play Sully, while Antonio Banderas plays Santiago Moncada, who is also hunting for the treasure, as he believes that he and his family are rightful heirs.

Tati Gabrielle (who you will recognise from You and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) also stars as a fellow mercenary. Grey’s Anatomy actress Sophia Ali is slated to play Chloe Frazer, who, in the games at least, was a love interest for Drake. Intriguing.

Ruben Fleischer, director of blockbusters like Zombieland, Gangster Squad and Venom, is set to direct – so we’re expecting BIG things.

It turns out Uncharted started out as a Bond prequel pitch from Holland itself.
