With in-person events well and truly back, this year is going to be packed with conferences, summits, expos, seminars, awards and good-old meetings. We’ve gone through them all and chosen five of the best for the first half of the year.
British Book Design and Production Awards
18 January 2023 – De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms, London
Originally scheduled for November 2022, the delayed British Book Design and Production Awards (BBDPAs) have been rescheduled for 18 January. Organised by BPIF, the awards are the premier event for the British book design and production industry, and with categories such as ‘Fine Binding & Limited Edition’, ‘Photographic Books’ and ‘Art & Architecture Monographs’, they celebrate every aspect of this essential element of print books.
Packaging Innovations
15-16 February 2023 – NEC, Birmingham
Co-located with Empack, Packaging Innovations does what it says on the tin, driving innovation across the entire packaging journey, from primary and secondary packaging, contract packing and fulfillment to labeling, printing, packing, and processing technology. With three stages and a large exhibition hall, the event will feature speakers from top brands such as Heineken, Diageo, Innocent Drinks and The Body Shop.
Fespa Global Print Expo
23-26 May 2023 – Munich, Germany
As one of the world’s largest shows for the international print industry, the Fespa Global Print Expo includes over 100 exhibitors, from Ricoh and Brother to Fujifilm and Epson, as well as tens of thousands of delegates, all looking for the latest technology and trends. Co-located with European Signage Expo 2023, the event will feature the Sustainability Spotlight area, which will provide “informative and actionable advice to address the needs of people and planet”.
Printweek Awards
2 March 2023 – The Brewery, London
The highly prestigious Printweek Awards are a fantastic mix of young and more established companies coming together in a giant celebration of the print industry. With the theme of ‘Driving Print Forward’, the awards now has a total of 17 categories, including the new category of Innovation of the Year, which recognises that innovation is always at the heart of the industry.
The Environmental Packaging Summit
13-14 June 2023 – Eastside Rooms, Birmingham
Organised by Packaging News, the Environmental Packaging Summit promises lively debate and discussion on a wide range of sustainable topics that impact the packaging supply chain. This will include subjects such as extended producer responsibility, deposit return schemes, carbon reduction, new materials, e-commerce, and the latest innovations from top retailers, brands and designers.
