Remember that horrible song by 90’s pop reggae artist Shaggy called “It wasn’t me?” Or the Simpson’s season 5, episode 12 airing of Bart’s famous “it wasn’t me” catchphrase? Even if you don’t, a delusional Toronto-area driver certainly does.

On December 15th, a Speedy McSpeederson driving a Genesis Coupe was clocked doing 82 km/h in a 50 km/h zone, which carries a fine and four demerit points.

Police offers hear all sorts of excuses each day, but this fellow added to the ever-growing list by justifying out loud that “I wasn’t speeding; the car was!”

I’ll give them a half point for their literal accuracy, but I’ll deduct four points for forgetting that they were the one whose actions made the car speed.

The price of stupidity continues to rise.
