Spurs struggled in the first half against Sporting, with former player Marcus Edwards opening the scoring for the Portuguese outfit. Tottenham impressed in their second half display though, with Conte feeling that his side should have won the watch and that it is unfair that they now must travel to France to take on Marseille needing a point.
He continued: “The second half was positive, we played with a great intensity. I think we deserved to win but at the end, you know what happened. We need one point but I don’t understand why we have to go to one game (Marseille) when we can finish the qualification in this game. When you invest this type of situation, it’s incredible. You create a lot of damage to the club, it creates problems.” It remains to be seen whether Spurs are able to bounce back from the heartbreak of Wednesday night’s draw and secure an important win against Bournemouth at the weekend.
