Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to secure their third signing of the summer transfer window with Yves Bissouma set for his medical.

Spurs have already agreed an initial fee of around £25million for the Brighton midfielder, as Antonio Conte continues to bolster his ranks, although that figure is expected to rise to over £30m with various add-ons.

And as reported by the Evening Standard, Bissouma was set for the club’s training ground on Thursday, as Spurs grow closer to welcoming their third addition through the door this summer. The 25-year-old is set to depart the Seagulls after four years on the south coast following another impressive campaign, having scored six times in 124 appearances for the club, despite Brighton being reluctant to sell one of their most prized assets this summer.

But with Bissouma having just one year remaining on his contract, Graham Potter’s side have decided to cash in on the Mali international while they still can. With no promise of the midfielder signing new terms this year, it would mean that he would leave for nothing in 12 months time.

Spurs are understood to have already agreed personal terms with the Brighton playmaker, with Bissouma being excited by the prospect of working under Antonio Conte and having the opportunity of playing Champions League football. Conte has been keen to add to his midfield options this summer and after had been linked with a host of names since the end of the season.

Rodrigo Bentancur – a January arrival from Juventus – and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg have formed a smart partnership at the base of midfield under Conte, but with Spurs preparing for a return to Europe’s top table and the Italian wanting to challenge for silverware in the upcoming campaign, he has been keen to reinforce further.

Indeed, former Spurs midfielder Christian Eriken continues to be linked with a return to the club. He’s available as a free agent.

Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso are expected to depart the club this summer upon the expiry of their loan deals at Lyon and Villarreal, respectively, with Spurs seeking permanent takers for two big-money purchases. The future of Harry Winks is also in question with the England international having been told he can go if the price is right.
