Tottenham will look to sign Fraser Forster from Southampton on a free transfer following the conclusion of Sunday’s top-four decider against Norwich, reports claim. The former England international now looks set to leave St Mary’s at the end of the season, despite recently holding talks over a new contract with the club.
The 34-year-old has made 19 appearances in the Premier League this season, battling Alex McCarthy for Southampton’s No 1 spot.
However, Forster could now be in line for a shock move to Tottenham, who are eying a free transfer.
According to The Athletic, Spurs are set to push ahead with a move as early as next week, meaning Forster could become their first signing of a busy summer.
Spurs had initially planned to sign Sam Johnstone from West Brom but it appears the plan has now changed.

Pierluigi Gollini is set to return to Atalanta in Italy following an unsuccessful loan spell as Hugo Lloris’ deputy.
The 27-year-old Italian needed to make 20 appearances in all competitions this season to make his move to north London permanent.
He has only played 10 times though, meaning a move is now out of reach.
Spurs also had the option to extend his loan by another year but it appears they want to move in another direction.
Antonio Conte is expected to be backed heavily in the summer transfer market with up to six signings being targeted ahead of the club’s pre-season tour of South Korea.
Tottenham are set to complete permanent deals for both Cristian Romero and Dejan Kulusevski after an excellent impact at the club in their debut Premier League season.
Both deals are now considered to be complete, although they will be made official at the end of the season.
Spurs are also expected to offload a number of players to raise cash to spend including Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Harry Winks, Sergio Reguilon and Joe Rodon.
The likes of Cameron Carter-Vickers, Emerson Royal and Steven Bergwijn could also depart.
