Tottenham ‘will consider signing £70m Man Utd target’ if Harry Kane joins Bayern

Tottenham could reportedly enter the running for Manchester United transfer target Randal Kolo Muani if Harry Kane joins Bayern Munich this summer. The Bundesliga champions have seen two bids rejected to date but they are refusing to lie down in their attempts to lure the England captain to Germany following face-to-face talks with Daniel Levy in London earlier this week.

Kane is currently in Australia with Spurs on their pre-season tour but there is confidence a deal can be struck when he returns to England with Thomas Tuchel determined to land his man.

Levy is yet to name his price but it’s thought Spurs could consider offers in the region of £100million given Kane is now into the final year of his contract and yet to commit to extending his stay in north London.

According to French outlet RMC Sport, Eintracht Frankfurt frontman Kolo Muani is one of the names that could be on the agenda for Tottenham if they do lose Kane this summer.

The Frenchman, who shone for Les Bleus at the World Cup in Qatar, hit 23 goals in all competitions last season and also registered 17 assists for Eintracht.

He is one of the hottest commodities within the striker transfer market but so far, his side’s steep £70m valuation of the player has put off suitors which include Manchester United.

United remain keen on landing Kane but know Levy is unlikely to do business with the Red Devils unless they table a mammoth proposal.

The Spurs owner has always been clear that he would favour selling his talisman to a foreign club if it became clear Kane wanted to pursue a new challenge away from Tottenham.

But if Spurs are to offload the 29-year-old, they will be cautious that other clubs around Europe will know they have cash to spend.

In which case, they are likely to experience complications trying to sign a replacement for Kane particularly as the 2023/24 campaign draws ever closer.

Bayern Munich’s honorary president Uli Hoeness made it clear with public comments on Saturday that the German giants are confident they will eventually get the transfer over the line.

Hoeness said: “He signalled very clearly that his decision was made. And if it stays that way, we’ll get him.”

“Levy is clever. First we have to get him to name a price. He plays for time and is a great professional. I appreciate him very much. But on the other side there aren’t any people who have been doing this since yesterday.”

“He wants to play internationally. Tottenham won’t be there next season – unlike our club. He now has another opportunity to come to a top club in Europe.

“What we really like about Kane is that his advisors, that is his father and his brother, are very pleasant. So far they have always stood by what they have promised. And if it stays that way, then that’s okay.”

Kane is understood to have held face-to-face talks with Bayern boss Tuchel, who wanted him at Chelsea, earlier this summer in which England’s all-time leading goalscorer is alleged to have outlined his desire to win the Champions League.

That said, Kane is also believed to have been impressed by Ange Postecoglou following initial discussions with Spurs’ new manager as the Aussie desperately attempts to convince him to remain at the club.
