Toyota Innova Crysta VX and ZX Launch Price – Rs 23.8 L To Rs 25.43 L

The 2.7L petrol engine and a 6-speed torque converter are not a part of the package for Toyota Innova Crysta anymore

For a long time in India, Toyota has held the premium MPV segment under its grasp with the mighty Innova brand. Very soon, Toyota Innova crept up the price ladder and went from a comfortable van to something associated with luxury and premiumness. Toyota Innova Crysta took that formula to a whole different level.

After Hycross’ launch, Toyota has brought back its iconic Innova Crysta and have re-launched it in India. Prices for G and GX trim were revealed earlier (Rs 19.13 lakh and Rs 19.99 lakh respectively), now prices for VX and ZX are out as well. VX costs Rs. 23.79 lakh lakh and top-spec ZX costs Rs. 25.43 lakh (both prices ex-sh).

In the case of VX trim, the Innova HyCross Hybrid, which is based on a modern platform, is larger in size, and offers more space and features – is priced about Rs 1 lakh more than Innova Crysta. Difference in prices of ZX trims is a lot more, Rs 3.65 lakh to be exact.

Unlike the monocoque Hycross, Innova Crysta is underpinned by a robust ladder frame chassis. Add to it the sought-after 2.4L turbo diesel engine, Innova Crysta is one of the most desirable vehicles in India. From the VX trim onwards, we get novice features like ambient lighting, housed in a more upmarket AC vent unit as opposed to G and GX. Features like an electrically adjustable driver’s seat are reserved with top-spec ZX trim.

Toyota Innova Crysta is not only re-launched, but it has gotten a facelift as well. This is Crysta’s second facelift in its lifespan. At front, there is a new grille with a quadrilateral shape which is intruded by mid-bumper elements which are in body colour. Rest of the design is mostly carried over, while the face is made angrier.

Specs & Rivals

Specifications of previous Innova Crysta are carried forward. We’re talking about identical dimensions, chassis, engine and almost similar features. The 2.4L 4-cylinder turbo diesel is now made BS6 Phase II compliant, meeting RDE norms and also is compatible with E20 fuel (20% Ethanol blend).

This engine is the sole offering and makes 148 bhp of power and 360 Nm of torque. It comes equipped with a sole 5-speed manual gearbox. That said, the 2.7L petrol engine is gone completely.
