A significant milestone was also accomplished by the company in April when it surpassed cumulative wholesale sales of over two million units.

“Demand continues to peak in the new financial year, as we close the month of April with an overall growth of 57 per cent over wholesales in April 2021. Along with the Crysta, Fortuner and the Legender, the Camry Hybrid has too received very encouraging booking orders,” TKM Associate Vice President, Sales, and Strategic Marketing Atul Sood said in a statement.

According to him, Glanza has been well-received at the beginning of its deliveries, starting in March this year, from Tier I cities to rural markets.

Meanwhile, in another news, retail sales at MG Motor India fell 22 per cent to 2,008 units last month from 2,565 in April 2021.

Global supply chain constraints due to COVID-19 lockdowns in various parts of the world impacted production greatly, the automaker said in a statement.

The brand is closely monitoring the situation caused by the new COVID waves and is aligning its efforts to address it, the company added.

Customers continue to show enthusiasm for the company’s Hector, Astor, and Gloster models, MG Motor India said.
