The January transfer window is nearly upon us and with the World Cup over, clubs can now start finalising their plans for what business they might complete. There are plenty of Premier League clubs who are expected to be active in the market in the new year, including several of the big hitters.
Chelsea could be the busiest in January, having reportedly wrapped up deals for Christopher Nkunku and David Datro Fofana. However, one player they’re facing a real battle to sign is Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho after reportedly making an ‘approach’ for him.
United are currently working on a new deal for Garnacho but are unlikely to get through January without at least one high-profile exit, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka looking the most likeliest at present with several Premier League clubs interested. In terms of arrivals, United are on the lookout for a new striker following Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit and a right-back but may be reduced to loan deals.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are being heavily linked with several midfielders, including Jude Bellingham and Enzo Fernandez, who has seen his price tag sky-rocket following a hugely impressive World Cup campaign. Arsenal are also likely to add at least one player with Mykhaylo Mudryk top of their wishlist. However, a striker could also be on their agenda following the serious injury to Gabriel Jesus.
